Joining the Dots

This year I was blessed with my own ritual for the New Year of 2018… with my head over a toilet bowl.

I was blessed with a purging ritual bestowed upon me, by catching a nasty sick bug, who knows where from, but it certainly timed itself well. My belly opened and my guts were emptied into the toilet bowl as the clock struck midnight. Oh Cinderella.

But in the time following this horrendous event, I strangely felt as new. A very significantly timed, ritual cleanse!

Purging the body to feel cleansed and renewed is a well-known and documented phenomenon. Water fasts, 40 day fasts, colonic irrigation, eating metres of bedsheets, drinking Ayuhasca tea are all ways to create clarity and find a deeper more meaningful inner self.

I had begun the year with an unexpected purge! This was in fact a gift!

I found myself greeting 2018 with my own resolutions. These are the ones I told myself:_

  1. Let your Word be Law – Create harmony in what I do and say. It is so easy to ‘talk the talk’ but not so easy to ‘walk the walk’.
  2. Take time for Your passions. Making time for your passions is something we all can fall guilty of. What do you love? I love music and I am going to return to it this year.
  3. Be Myself – You must always be yourself. Follow your dreams and don’t allow yourself to be defined by anyone else’s perception of you. Always, always be yourself, not what someone else perceives you to be.              NAMASTE and Happy New Year:))

I came to yoga with a bad back and a full mind, lots of constant chatter, no different to anyone else... after 15 years of teaching... my mind still goes all monkey on me, the so called wild horses are still there... but I have it under control, I am aware of it..... my body has never felt so strong... yoga really solves so much...mind body and soul...
